Even after 21 months since the murder of Parli's trader Mahadev Munde, the accused are still roaming free. In this context, his wife Dnyaneshwari Munde met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. After this meeting, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and assured that the culprits in this case will not be spared under any circumstances, as stated by Dnyaneshwari Munde.

On October 21, 2023, Mahadev Munde was brutally murdered in the vicinity of the Parli Tehsil office. It is alleged that Valmik Karad and his son, along with other members of the Karad gang, were involved in this case. However, no arrests have been made to date. Questions have also been raised about the police investigation, and the victim's family has repeatedly struggled for justice.

Speaking about the meeting with the Chief Minister, Dnyaneshwari Munde said, "I narrated the story of the ongoing injustice for 21 months to the Chief Minister. Hearing this, he became emotional. He assured me that 'no criminal will escape.' He also immediately called the Superintendent of Police of Beed and ordered action."

In this case, they informed the Chief Minister about why the police investigation was stopped. "Valmik Karad called the police officers from Dhananjay Munde's bungalow in Parli and the investigation was halted, we learned. We requested the Chief Minister to retrieve the CDR related to that," they also stated. "We have given the names of those involved in this murder to the Chief Minister. No one will be shielded," the Chief Minister assured, they clarified.

Following the orders given by the Chief Minister, an SIT has now been established under the chairmanship of Pankaj Kumawat. The accused have been roaming free for the past 21 months, and now the responsibility for their arrest lies with this SIT.

Several important milestones have been crossed in the Mahadev Munde murder case so far. On January 24, 2025, the victim's family submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police. On January 25, the case was transferred to the Deputy Superintendent of Police in Ambajogai. On February 11, Dnyaneshwari Munde demanded an SIT. On July 16, due to lack of progress in the police investigation, Dnyaneshwari attempted suicide twice. On July 29, the family was called for a meeting from the Chief Minister's office. On July 31, the Chief Minister ordered the establishment of an SIT.

Due to all these developments, the investigation into Mahadev Munde's murder is now at a decisive turning point. The effectiveness of the SIT in delivering justice to the family will be determined in the coming time.
