Maharashtra Announces 50 Lakh EX Gratia to Families Of Pahalgam Victims
Various important decisions were taken in the state cabinet meeting held today, Tuesday, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and other cabinet members were present in this cabinet meeting held in the cabinet hall of the ministry. An important decision was taken in the cabinet to provide government jobs to the heirs of those who died in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The Chief Minister also said that Rs 50 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased.
Important decisions in the cabinet meeting -
1. Administrative approval for revised expenditure worth Rs. 488.53 crore for remaining works and dam leakage prevention work at Temghar Project, Tal. Mulshi, Dist. Pune (Water Resources Department)
2. Amendment to the provision in Rule 27(b) (3) of the Maharashtra Begging Prohibition Rules, 1964 under the Mumbai Begging Prohibition Act, 1951. The daily allowance for persons in begging houses has been increased from Rs. 5 to Rs. 40. This is the first change since 1964 (Women and Child Development Department)
3. Decision to implement the revised guidelines issued by the Central Government for the years 2021-22 to 2025-26 under the Government of India Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for students belonging to OBC, EBC and DNT categories under the umbrella scheme PM-YASASVI in the state (Other Backward Classes Welfare Department)
4. Approval for construction of six-lane elevated road and six-lane construction of existing road on Hadapsar to Yavat State Road, road worth Rs. 5262.36 crore (Public Works Department)
5. Approval to establish Maha InvIT (Infrastructure Investment Trust) under the Public Works Department (Public Works Department)
6. Shipbuilding and ship repair facilities (Shipyard) and ship recycling facilities in the state of Maharashtra
7. Approval of the policy for developing (Ship Recycling) (Department of Transport and Ports)
8. Approval of Maharashtra Electric Vehicle Policy, 2025 (Transport and Ports Department)
9. Aggregator Policy for App Based Vehicles (Transport and Ports)
10. The Central Government will implement a mandatory risk-based crop insurance scheme by amending the comprehensive crop insurance scheme and will also implement a scheme focusing on the creation of agricultural infrastructure to increase capital investment in the agricultural sector (Agriculture Department)
11. Decision to implement special programs for the development of the Gowari community members of the Special Backward Category on the lines of the schemes being implemented by the Tribal Development Department for the Scheduled Tribes (Other Backward Bahujan Welfare Department)
12. Decision to increase the limit of the personal loan interest repayment scheme of M.R. Other Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation and Vasantrao Naik Vimukta Jati and Nomadic Tribes Development Corporation from ₹10 lakhs to ₹15 lakhs (Other Backward Bahujan Welfare Department)
