Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Highlights Infrastructure and Safety Priorities
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed multiple key issues while interacting with the media today, including the Vadavan Port project, the tragic Indrayani River bridge accident, and recent remarks made by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut.
Speaking about the ambitious Vadavan Port project, the Chief Minister emphasized its transformative potential.
"Vadavan Port is not just going to change the face of this district, but also that of Maharashtra and the entire country. It will create 10 lakh jobs," Fadnavis stated. He further stressed that local communities, especially fishermen and tribal residents of Palghar district, should be the primary beneficiaries of this development."This is our commitment — to ensure that my brothers from the fishing and tribal communities benefit the most," he added.
On the tragic bridge collapse over the Indrayani River in the Maval region, which claimed several lives, Fadnavis revealed that prior warnings had been issued.
"The District Collector had already declared the bridge as dangerous, and villagers had also erected a warning sign at the site. Despite that, tourists visited the area, resulting in the unfortunate accident," he said. The Chief Minister noted that the incident underscores the need for preventive measures."During my conversation with the District Collector, I was informed that nearly 500 such spots become hazardous during the monsoon and are visited by tourists. Their repair and management must be prioritized going forward," he said.
When asked to respond to allegations made by Sanjay Raut, the Chief Minister firmly dismissed them without naming him directly.
"Some people go as far as accusing our armed forces and their bravery. They thrive on making allegations — from the streets to Delhi. I am not here to answer such people," Fadnavis said, clearly indicating his disapproval of what he called "baseless accusations."
The press interaction highlighted the Chief Minister's assertive stand on infrastructure development, public safety, and his continued criticism of the opposition's rhetoric.
