Maharashtra Unites Against Hindi Imposition : Political Leaders Rally
The movement against the imposition of Hindi in Maharashtra continues to gain momentum. After Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena extended support to Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for the July 5 march opposing Hindi dominance, more political voices are rallying behind the cause.
Prahar Janshakti Party leader and MLA Bacchu Kadu has now publicly declared his support for the movement. In a powerful and provocative post shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Kadu wrote, "The establishment will lose sleep, Delhi will also tremble..."—a direct warning aimed at both the state and central governments.
Kadu also shared a photo featuring himself alongside MNS chief Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray, symbolizing a rare show of unity among otherwise politically divergent parties. “The voice fighting for Maharashtra is getting louder,” his post read.
The anti-Hindi imposition march, set to take place in Mumbai on July 5, is being seen as a significant political statement emphasizing the importance of the Marathi language and cultural identity. With support now coming from across party lines, including regional outfits like Prahar Sanghatana, the movement is expected to make a strong impact both within Maharashtra and at the national level.
Political analysts note that such unified action around linguistic identity could influence voter sentiments ahead of upcoming elections and send a strong message to policymakers in Delhi.
