Mumbai-Goa highway : Entire Paradkar Family Dies in Horrific Car Crash near Khed
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 5:00 to 5:30 a.m., when a Kia car (registration number MH 02 3265) fell from the Jagbudi River bridge into a 100-foot-deep gorge. The victims were reportedly on their way from Mumbai to Devrukh to attend a funeral when the accident took place.
The deceased have been identified as:
Medha Parmesh Paradkar
Saurabh Parmesh Paradkar (22)
Mitali Vivek More (45)
Nihar Vivek More (19)
Shreyas Rajendra Sawant (23)
All the victims were residents of Mira Road-Bhayandar in Mumbai and belonged to two closely connected families. They had left Mumbai at around 11:30 p.m. and were traveling overnight when the tragedy occurred.
Local residents and police rushed to the scene immediately after the incident. Rescue operations were swiftly carried out, and the injured were taken to Kalambani Hospital. Unfortunately, five people were declared dead on arrival. The two critically injured individuals—Parmesh Paradkar and Vivek More—were later shifted to Ratnagiri District Government Hospital for advanced treatment. While More continues to receive medical care, Paradkar died late Monday night from his injuries.
The accident has cast a shadow of grief over both families and the entire community in Mumbai and Devrukh. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the crash, though authorities suspect that the vehicle may have lost control while navigating the bridge.
