Nashik District Got 4 Ministerial Posts for the First Time in History
This development comes in the wake of the formation of the grand alliance government in November 2024 under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The coalition government comprises leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena, and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction). Most alliance leaders were allocated ministerial positions during the initial cabinet formation.
With Bhujbal’s induction, Nashik district now has four representatives in the state cabinet — three from the NCP and one from the Shiv Sena. This is the first time in the political history of Maharashtra that a single district has held such significant representation in the cabinet.
Prior to Bhujbal’s appointment, Manikrao Kokate (NCP), Dada Bhuse (Shiv Sena), and Narhari Zirwal (NCP) were already serving as ministers.
Manikrao Kokate currently holds the Agriculture portfolio.
Dada Bhuse is in charge of the School Education department.
Narhari Zirwal oversees Food and Drug Administration as well as Special Assistance.
Chhagan Bhujbal, a senior leader and a prominent OBC face in the NCP, now joins this list. His inclusion has sparked curiosity in political circles regarding which portfolio he will be assigned.
The strong representation of Nashik leaders in the cabinet highlights the district's growing political importance in the state’s governance landscape.
