NCP Appoints Sunil Tingre and Subhash Jagtap to Lead Pune
Sunil Tingre to Lead East Pune
The East Pune division, which includes the Kasba, Cantonment, Hadapsar, and Vadgaon Sheri assembly constituencies, will be headed by MLA Sunil Tingre, who currently represents the Vadgaon Sheri constituency. Tingre, known for his grassroots connect and active public outreach, has been entrusted with strengthening the party’s presence in the eastern part of the city.
Joining him are Rupali Patil Thombre and Haji Firoz Sheikh, who have been appointed as working presidents for East Pune. Rupali Patil Thombre, notably recognized for her swift and sensitive handling of the Vaishnavi Hagavane case, has been given this key role in recognition of her commitment and leadership.
Subhash Jagtap Takes Charge of West Pune
In the West Pune division, comprising Parvati, Khadakwasla, Kothrud, and Shivajinagar assembly constituencies, the NCP has appointed former corporator and former House Leader Subhash Jagtap as city president. Known for his deep experience in civic administration, Jagtap is expected to lead the party’s strategic planning in this competitive region.
He will be supported by Pradeep Deshmukh—who has been reappointed—and Akrur Kudale, both of whom will serve as working presidents for West Pune.
Leadership Announced Under Ajit Pawar’s Guidance
These appointments were officially announced by MLA Chetan Tupe under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Appointment letters were distributed by NCP Maharashtra State President Sunil Tatkare during a party meeting in Pune.
Party insiders describe this reorganization as a strategic move to bolster the NCP’s grassroots presence, ensure better coordination, and prepare for the upcoming municipal elections, which are expected to be fiercely contested. With the new leadership in place, the party aims to energize its cadre and improve electoral performance across the city.
