Dino Morea's Legal Troubles: Nitesh Rane Questions Aaditya Thackeray's Involvement
In a sharp political attack, BJP MLA Nitesh Rane has made controversial remarks targeting Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, in connection with the ongoing investigation into actor Dino Morea's alleged role in the Mithi River cleaning scam.
Dino Morea, a Bollywood actor, has been summoned and questioned by authorities for his alleged involvement in irregularities related to the river cleaning project. He also moved an anticipatory bail plea earlier today.
Nitesh Rane's Blistering Allegations
Nitesh Rane did not mince words while linking Aaditya Thackeray to the controversy. In a statement to the media, he said:
"Dino Morea is Aaditya’s boyfriend… sorry, friend. When Aaditya was in power at the BMC and as a minister, Dino Morea was a frequent visitor to his house. He is one of Aaditya’s nightlife friends who ruined Mumbai. Dino Morea is practically Matoshri’s daughter-in-law. He has direct connections with Matoshri."
The reference to “Matoshri”, the Thackeray family residence and a political symbol, has stirred significant attention and criticism, with many calling Rane’s comments personal and derogatory.
Calls for Open Debate
Escalating his criticism, Rane challenged Aaditya Thackeray to debate him on a public platform. He stated:
"Aaditya shouldn’t talk behind people’s backs. If he hadn’t indulged in late-night escapades with Dino Morea, Mumbai wouldn’t be facing this crisis. He handed over contracts to his nightlife gang, which led to the current mess."
Political Backlash Expected
Rane’s comments are expected to spark a political war of words between the BJP and Shiv Sena (UBT), especially with the Mumbai civic administration and infrastructure issues under scrutiny. As of now, Aaditya Thackeray has not responded publicly to the allegations.
The incident has reignited debates on political patronage, celebrity involvement in civic projects, and the use of personal attacks in political discourse.
