No digital payments will be accepted at all petrol pumps in Nagpur district from Saturday, May 10. The Vidarbha Petroleum Dealers Association has taken this decision as bank accounts are being frozen due to increasing incidents of cyber fraud. Currently, digital transactions have increased significantly across the country. However, cyber criminals are taking advantage of this. Due to some fraudulent transactions, banks have frozen lakhs of rupees in the accounts of pump operators. In some cases, entire bank accounts have been frozen. The money in the relevant account cannot be recovered without the order of the Home Ministry. This process is very complicated, and despite filing a complaint with the Cyber Crime Department, no satisfactory answer has been received yet. If this problem is not resolved at the earliest, the organization is considering stopping digital payments in the entire Maharashtra.

The Vidarbha Petrol Pump Association has decided to ban digital payments. But it is certain that it will affect the customers. It will also be important to see what role the government, which is insistent on Digital India, takes regarding this decision. This decision has been taken under the leadership of Gaurav Jaiswal, President of the Vidarbha Petroleum Dealers Association.
