Official Dates Announced for Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh
The meeting, which marked a crucial step in preparations for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, was attended by the heads of all 13 Akhadas, along with two representatives—Sadhu and Mahant—from each. During the deliberations, the Chief Minister engaged with the spiritual leaders to finalize the dates and discuss the event's infrastructure and logistical planning.
“This year’s Kumbh Mela has been named the ‘Trikhandi Kumbh Mela,’” announced Chief Minister Fadnavis during a press interaction following the meeting. “There are 13 major Akhadas associated with the Kumbh Mela in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar. We held an in-depth discussion with all Mahants, Sadhus, and prominent Purohit Sanghs about the road ahead. We heard their views and also shared the government’s initiatives so far.”
He further informed the media that the state government has floated tenders worth approximately ₹4,000 crore for various developmental works associated with the Mela. “Many of these are in their final stages, and we are preparing to float additional tenders worth ₹2,000 crore,” he added.
