Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, has received major relief from the Supreme Court on Thursday. He was granted bail in the violence case that occurred on May 9, 2023.

After Khan's arrest in this incident, his supporters engaged in widespread vandalism and arson. In this context, cases were filed against Khan and several PTI leaders.

The three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Afridi delivered this decision after the arguments of lawyer Salman Safdar and Punjab government's special lawyer Zulfiqar Naqvi. Justice Shafi Siddiqui and Miangul Aurangzeb were also part of the bench.

However, Khan still needs to obtain bail in the 'Al Qadir' case to be released from prison, as clarified by the party's international spokesperson Zulfiqar Bukhari. Currently, Imran Khan has been in Rawalpindi prison since August 2023. The granting of bail has once again sparked enthusiasm among his supporters.
