Priyanka Gandhi Vadra questions the Home Minister in the Pahalgam terrorist attack
Tuesday marked the second day of discussions on 'Operation Sindoor' during the monsoon session of Parliament. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra began her speech by paying tribute to the soldiers who protect India's borders and sovereignty. She said, “The contribution of our soldiers to the country's independence and security is incomparable.”
During this time, Congress leader and MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra delivered a powerful speech in the Lok Sabha, criticizing the central government for security failures. She questioned why the government remained silent on the terrorist attack that occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, directly criticizing Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra began her speech by paying tribute to the soldiers who protect India's borders and sovereignty. She said, “The contribution of our soldiers to the country's independence and security is incomparable.”
"How can attackers carry out such a major attack in a region like Kashmir, which has a high military presence? Why was there not a single soldier present when thousands of tourists were in the Baisaran Valley? Did no intelligence agency in the country receive information about the attack?", she questioned, directly expressing doubts about the security arrangements.
Also, directly targeting Home Minister Amit Shah, she asked, "Did the intelligence department chief or the Home Minister resign after this? Did anyone take responsibility?" Priyanka Gandhi Vadra further said, "Today in Parliament, the Home Minister was commenting on Pandit Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi. He even spoke about my mother's tears, but did not utter a word about the attack in Pahalgam." She also mentioned the violence in Manipur, saying, "The entire state of Manipur is ablaze, and all this has happened during the rule of those in power. Yet, no one takes responsibility."
At the end of the speech, she said,
"After the 26/11 attacks, you ask what we did? We killed all those terrorists right there. But today, attacks happen and the government stays away from responsibility."
