Pune Water Cut Alert: Rotational Water Supply Begins Amid Summer Heat; Full Weekly Schedule Released
The water cuts will begin in South Pune, affecting several areas including Sinhagad Road, Sahakar Nagar, Dhankawadi, Balajinagar, Ambegaon Plateau, Dattanagar, Santoshnagar, Katraj, Bharati Vidyapeeth campus, and Kondhwa Budruk. Additionally, from Tuesday onward, water supply will be restricted in areas that rely on the Vadgaon Water Purification Center.
According to PMC officials, the decision was made to tackle the increased water demand and reduced water availability during the summer months. In some areas, residents will experience low water pressure, while others may have to depend on water tankers for supply.
The municipal administration has appealed to citizens to use water judiciously, store it responsibly, and avoid wastage. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate and adhere to the rotational schedule, emphasizing that these measures are temporary but necessary to avoid a larger crisis.
