Russia Plane Crash: Major Accident in Russia; Possibility of Significant Casualties

An Angara Airlines plane has crashed in Russia's Amur region. It had 50 passengers. Russian military has found the wreckage, after which rescue and relief operations have begun. A few hours ago, this plane disappeared from radar. It is feared that all 50 people have died in the plane crash. According to the news agency TASS, this plane operated under the N-24 code had 43 passengers including 5 children. There were also 6 crew members present on the plane.

According to Interfax News, the plane was supposed to land at Tinda Airport, but it failed on the first attempt, after which the pilot tried to land it again, but the plane crashed 15 km away. The wreckage of the plane has been found in the forest. Just two months ago, an Angara Airlines AN-24 plane caught fire on the runway. As the plane was landing in Kirensk, its nose broke, causing the plane to catch fire. However, there were no casualties at that time.

The wreckage of the accident-stricken AN-24 is scattered over half a kilometer. It is impossible to land at the accident site. Rescue teams are planning to descend there with the help of ropes.
