Sanjay Shirsat Dismisses Thackeray Brothers Alliance Rumors
“This alliance will not happen—this is the truth,” said Shirsat. “Some people are fanning these speculations for their own agenda, but in reality, nothing of the sort is going to take place.”
The potential political rapprochement between Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray has become a hot topic in state politics, leading to widespread public curiosity and media attention.
However, Shirsat remained dismissive of the possibility, stating, “If the two brothers decide to come together, we don’t have a problem with it. But currently, it’s just a crop of rumors. There are some strategic moves behind these talks, possibly aimed at creating public confusion.”
Drawing from his personal rapport with the Thackeray family, Shirsat said, “I’ve known Uddhav Saheb for over 40 years, and Raj Saheb is his brother. Both are capable of making their own decisions. It's wrong to draw immediate conclusions based on what Raj Thackeray says. Only he knows the true context of his words.”
Reacting to recent speculations that Uddhav Thackeray's softened tone could signal openness toward his cousin Raj, Shirsat denied such interpretations. “There is still underlying tension between the two, and nothing substantial suggests a political reunion is on the cards.”
While political discussions and speculation continue to swirl, Minister Shirsat’s statements have effectively poured cold water on the prospects of an MNS-Shiv Sena (UBT) alliance, at least for now.
