Saamana Editorial Targets PM Modi Over Terror Attacks, Accuses Centre of Emotional Politics
Shiv Sena's mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ has once again launched a scathing editorial attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this time using the backdrop of ‘Operation Sindoor’ to question the central government’s handling of terrorism and its treatment of the families of martyrs.
In a strongly worded editorial, Saamana held the Modi-led central government accountable for a series of terrorist attacks that occurred during his tenure, including the ones in Uri, Pathankot, Pahalgam, and Pulwama. The editorial alleged that while these attacks were politicized for electoral gains by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the families of the martyred soldiers were left without justice.
"All the terrorist attacks — Uri, Pathankot, Pahalgam, Pulwama — took place during Modi's time. BJP sought votes by politicizing all these attacks. But those who were martyred never got justice," the Saamana editorial said. The piece further criticized the symbolic naming of Operation Sindoor, describing it as a form of “emotional politics.” The editorial posed a direct question to the Prime Minister: "Has the revenge for the beloved sisters whose vermilion was wiped out been truly completed through Operation Sindoor? A peace-loving Modi should answer this." It also took a swipe at Modi’s recent international recognition: "Modi received the highest award from Cyprus and will return with it around his neck. But he should not forget the wiped vermilion of the sisters. The same Modi who once flew warplanes to protect the dignity of vermilion now flies doves of peace."
In this sharp critique, Saamana labeled the BJP's national security narrative as “emotional propaganda” and accused the party of using sensitive issues like terrorism and martyrdom for political mileage.
The editorial concluded with a strong message:
“The Prime Minister must give a clear answer on what has been done for the families of the martyrs.”
