Shubhanshu Shukla Shares Space Experience with PM Modi

Indian-origin astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Indian-origin astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, currently aboard NASA and SpaceX’s Axiom-4 (Ax-4) mission, spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shared insights about his space journey and the experiments he is set to conduct in orbit. The conversation marked a proud moment for the nation, as Shukla became one of the few Indians to participate in an international space mission of this magnitude.

Shukla, along with three other astronauts, launched into space two days ago as part of the Axiom-4 mission, a private mission organized by Axiom Space in collaboration with NASA and SpaceX. His participation is being seen as a significant achievement for India in the global space exploration landscape.

During the interaction with Prime Minister Modi, Shukla shared his personal experiences of space travel and discussed the scientific goals of the mission. Notably, he highlighted that he will be conducting experiments based on seven unique research projects developed by Indian scientists.

“These experiments will help expand our understanding in various areas of space science, and I’m proud to carry Indian innovation into orbit,” Shukla reportedly told the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Modi congratulated Shukla on this historic achievement and expressed confidence that such missions would further strengthen India's role in space research and international collaboration.

The Axiom-4 mission is part of an ongoing effort to build a sustainable human presence in low-Earth orbit, and the inclusion of Indian-led research in this mission adds a significant milestone to India’s growing contribution to space science.
