Siblings Chant Vitthal Bhakti While Running Salon in Maharashtra
As the Wari pilgrimage to Pandharpur draws thousands of devotees from across Maharashtra, two brothers from Risod town have found a unique way to express their devotion to Lord Vitthal—right from their workplace.
Ravi Kokate and Bajrang Kokate, who run a salon in Risod, have become known for their unwavering devotion to Vitthal. While attending to their customers, the Kokate brothers continuously chant the name of Vitthal and sing devotional songs, filling the air with spiritual fervor.
Though they are unable to participate in the Pandharpur Wari due to their professional responsibilities, the brothers have created their own space of devotion within the walls of their salon. “We may not be in Pandharpur physically, but our hearts are always there. Vitthal’s name never leaves our lips,” said one of the brothers.
Customers who visit the salon often experience a sense of spiritual peace and joy. Many say that the devotional songs, often beginning with the phrase "Karta Karta Vithuraya", create an atmosphere reminiscent of the holy pilgrimage itself.
The Kokate brothers have become a symbol of how devotion knows no boundaries. Even without stepping foot in Pandharpur, their hearts and voices continue to celebrate Vitthal’s glory, inspiring others to find devotion in their daily lives.
