State New Housing Policy Announced 8 Important Decisions In Cabinet Meeting
A total of eight major decisions were made, spanning multiple departments including Housing, Urban Development, Law and Justice, Industry, and most notably, the Water Resources Department, which saw four major project approvals.
Among the most prominent announcements was the introduction of a new housing policy titled "My Home – My Rights", with a massive investment of ₹70,000 crore earmarked for slum rehabilitation, redevelopment, and affordable housing. The policy aims to prioritize the housing needs of low-income groups, senior citizens, women, industrial workers, and students.
Key Cabinet Decisions:
Housing Department:
Launch of the “My Home – My Rights” initiative.
₹70,000 crore to be invested in a comprehensive program for slum rehabilitation and redevelopment.
Priority will be given to economically weaker sections, women, senior citizens, workers, and students.
Urban Development Department:
Approval to lease land at Deonar, under the jurisdiction of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, to Mahanagar Gas Limited at a concessional rate.
Land to be used for a compressed biogas project using biomethanation technology.
Industries, Energy, Labour, and Mining Department:
Approval granted to clear pending proposals submitted under policies that have now expired.
Law and Justice Department:
Decision to establish a Senior Civil Court at Karanja in Washim district.
28 new posts created and ₹1.76 crore sanctioned for the court’s setup.
Major Approvals in the Water Resources Department:
Sulwade-Jamphal-Kanoli Lift Irrigation Scheme (Dhule District, Shindkheda Taluka):
Revised cost approved at ₹5,329.46 crore.
Expected to create irrigation capacity for 52,720 hectares.
Aruna Medium Project (Het Village, Vaibhavwadi Taluka, Sindhudurg District):
Revised project cost of ₹2,025.64 crore approved.
Will enable irrigation of 5,310 hectares.
Poshir Project (Karjat Taluka, Raigad District):
Administrative approval for ₹6,394.13 crore granted.
Shilar Project (Karjat Taluka, Raigad District):
Administrative approval for ₹4,869.72 crore granted.
These decisions underscore the state government's continued focus on infrastructure development, rural upliftment through irrigation expansion, and inclusive housing reforms.
