Suraj Chavan Resigns as State President to Protect Party's Image
Against the backdrop of the chaos that occurred during the press conference in Latur, the state president of the Nationalist Youth Congress, Suraj Chavan, has resigned. A short while ago, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had ordered Suraj Chavan to resign, and immediately thereafter, he complied with the party's order by resigning. While resigning, he publicly expressed regret for the incident through his statement, stating that the decision was made to prevent any damage to the party's image due to the incident.
Suraj Chavan has said, “Maharashtra has inherited the legacy of cultured leaders like Yashwantrao Chavan. Our leader Ajitdada Pawar works with him as an ideal. Under his leadership, we have always respected discipline and culture. However, in recent times, our leaders have been criticized at a very low level, causing dissatisfaction among the workers.”
He further said, “The Chhava organization is a group that fights against injustice, so we consider it a brotherly organization. Their act of giving a memorandum to Sunil Tatkare or throwing playing cards could be a form of their innovative protest. However, after the event, due to criticism in obscene language about our leaders, the activists reacted angrily. That reaction could have been avoided, even though we were aware of it, the incident occurred. I publicly express my regret for that.”
Priority to Party Values
Through his resignation, Suraj Chavan has prioritized the party's values and accepted moral responsibility. His resignation has set an example of discipline and responsibility in the Nationalist Congress Party.
