(Caste Certificate) The Supreme Court has allowed a minor girl to be issued an SC certificate based on her mother's caste. On Monday, the Supreme Court, in a decision aimed at facilitating the education of the minor girl, approved the issuance of a Scheduled Caste certificate based on her mother's 'Adi Dravid' caste.

Considering the educational requirements, the Supreme Court has made this significant decision. The girl's mother belongs to the Hindu Adi Dravid caste and had requested an SC certificate for her children. After marriage, the husband stays at my maternal home. The children also studied here, and all members are from the Scheduled Caste.

The bench of Chief Justice Suryakant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi dismissed the petition challenging the order of the Madras High Court. The petitioner opposed the High Court's decision to grant an SC certificate to the daughter based on the mother's caste.
