Two Indian Hospitalized After Brutal Racial Attacks in Australia and Ireland
Two separate attacks on Indian individuals in Adelaide, Australia, and Dublin, Ireland, have sparked a wave of intense anger among the Indian community worldwide.
In Adelaide, a 23-year-old Indian student, Charanpreet Singh, was suddenly attacked by a local gang in a parking area. He was subjected to racial slurs and then brutally beaten. The assault resulted in serious injuries to his head, jaw, and eye. He was immediately admitted to the hospital. Local police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the incident and are searching for other suspects.
Meanwhile, a similar shocking incident has come to light in the city of Dublin, Ireland. A 40-year-old Indian employee who recently joined Amazon was standing near a field when some youths harassed him with racial abuse. Accusing him of "misbehaving with children," he was severely beaten. After the attack, the assailants fled. Local citizens immediately admitted the injured Indian to the hospital.
Reacting to this incident, Indian Ambassador to Ireland Akhilesh Mishra expressed sorrow on social media and hoped that the culprits would be arrested and severely punished as soon as possible. Both incidents have once again raised the issue of Indian safety abroad, with demands for strict measures from the administrations of the respective countries.
