Uddhav Thackeray Strategic Alliance with MNS; Former Corporators Support
With the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections approaching, political strategies are taking shape. In a significant development, discussions are reportedly underway regarding a possible alliance between the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), led by Raj Thackeray.
According to sources, during a recent meeting with former corporators, Uddhav Thackeray directly raised the issue of a potential alliance with MNS. He reportedly asked, “Would an alliance with MNS be beneficial for the party?” A majority of the former corporators present responded positively to the idea.
Uddhav Thackeray assured that any such decision would be taken after consultation with party members. “If a decision is made to form an alliance, it will be done by taking everyone into confidence,” he said during the meeting.
Corporators Back the Proposal
Speaking about the meeting, former Uddhav Sena corporator Suresh Patil said, “We should consider the way the opposition is forming a grand alliance to consolidate their position. Uddhav Saheb sought our views, and we unanimously supported the idea. We will fully stand by whichever party he decides to align with.”
Political Impact of a Potential Alliance
If the Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS join forces, it could significantly alter the political equations in Mumbai. Both parties share a common ideological foundation, rooted in Balasaheb Thackeray’s political legacy, and such an alliance could consolidate the Marathi vote and pose a strong challenge to rival political fronts.
Political observers believe that the coming weeks will be crucial, as formal discussions may take place and a clearer picture of the alliance could emerge. A united Thackeray front, if realized, could reshape the electoral dynamics of the BMC elections.
