Uttarkashi Cloudburst: Heavy Rainfall Wreaks Havoc in Uttarakhand; Several Houses Damaged
In Devbhoomi Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, a severe cloudburst and landslide on Tuesday have created an atmosphere of fear throughout the area. In this natural disaster in Dharali village, the heavy rain caused the Kheer Ganga river to suddenly flood, and many houses and buildings were swept away or buried under mud.
Due to this accident, there have been several incidents of landslides in Dharali village, and roads have been closed. Rescue and relief operations have been initiated on a war footing by the administration. Citizens have been immediately relocated to safe places, and the situation is being continuously monitored.
In the backdrop of this crisis, information emerged that 11 pilgrims from Donggaon in Biloli taluka of Nanded district, Maharashtra, were stranded in Uttarakhand. Upon learning this, the administration became alert. Fortunately, all these pilgrims are completely safe as they are located about 150 km away from the incident site.
Taking serious note of this incident, Nanded's Guardian Minister Atul Save has ordered the District Collector to take immediate necessary measures. Additionally, if any other citizens from Nanded district are stranded in Uttarakhand, their relatives are urged to contact the concerned Tehsildar or District Emergency Operations Center, as appealed by District Collector Rahul Kardile.
The weather situation in Uttarkashi and the surrounding area remains concerning, and the possibility of further cloudbursts or landslides cannot be ruled out. Rescue operations and emergency assistance efforts are ongoing by the NDRF and local administration, and the relocation of tourists and local citizens is also underway at a rapid pace.
