Weather Warnings Issued Across Maharashtra : Mumbai on Yellow Alert
Rain has once again made a strong presence in most parts of the state, and the weather department has issued orange and yellow alerts in some areas. Heavy rain is expected today in Pune, Satara, Raigad, and the Ghats.
The intensity of rain is expected to continue in Mumbai and Konkan as well. A warning of heavy showers has been issued for the Ghats of Palghar, Thane, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nashik, and Kolhapur. Similarly, a warning of heavy rain has been issued for the districts of Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Chandrapur, Gondia, and Gadchiroli in Vidarbha. The weather department has given a yellow alert to Mumbai.
Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued by the weather department for Nagpur, Wardha, Yavatmal, and Washim districts due to the possibility of rain accompanied by thunderstorms. Light showers are also expected in the rest of Maharashtra along with cloudy weather.
Rain Havoc in Satara
Rain has intensified again in Satara district, with heavy downpour continuing in the Jawali and Mahabaleshwar areas. The district has recorded torrential rain for the past 48 hours. The average rainfall in Satara has reached 375 mm, with 85 percent of the average rainfall recorded so far.
This substantial rainfall is expected to give a good boost to the Kharif season, creating a joyful atmosphere among farmers. The weather department has predicted that the intensity of the rain will remain the same for the next few days.
In light of the heavy rain, the meteorological department has urged citizens to take necessary precautions. Particularly, those traveling in the hilly areas should remain vigilant, as advised.
