Youtube: Content creators in India have earned a whopping Rs 21,000 crore in the last three years

Currently, the use of social media has increased significantly. YouTube is an important medium for videos. Now an important update has come out regarding YouTube. Video sharing platform YouTube has planned to invest more than Rs 850 crore to accelerate the growth of Indian content creators, artists and media companies.

YouTube Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Neil Mohan gave this information on Thursday. He said that in the last three years, YouTube has paid more than Rs 21,000 crore to creators, artists and media companies in India. Last year, 45 billion hours of video content created in India were watched by viewers outside the country.

Similarly, "YouTube will invest over Rs 850 crore in the next two years to accelerate the growth of Indian creators, artists and media companies," Mohan said at a session held on the opening day of the World Audiovisual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) here.

Last year, more than 10 crore channels in the country uploaded content on YouTube, out of which more than 15000 channels had more than 1 million subscribers, Mohan also informed.
