Maharashtra Winter Session 2025: Date of the Winter Session decided; Likely to be held 'this' week

The winter session of the Maharashtra legislature has been scheduled in Nagpur from December 8 to 14. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Legislative Business Advisory Committee. The fact that the session has been kept for only one week has caused discontent among the opposition.​

In this session, there is a possibility of discussions on the ongoing local self-government elections in the state and the various issues arising in them. Due to excessive rainfall during the monsoon, farmers have suffered immense losses. Although the government has announced a relief package for them, many farmers have still not received assistance. Therefore, this issue is likely to be prominent in the session.​

In the past, many leaders have faced allegations of corruption. The opposition may take an aggressive stance on this issue in the session. There is a possibility of discussions in the session on farmers' aid issues, local self-government election matters, and corruption issues.
