“No Compromise! Make the District Drug-Free”: Guardian Minister Dr. Uday Samant Issues Strict Instructions to Police
In a strong statement against the growing concern of drug abuse, Guardian Minister Dr. Uday Samant has directed law enforcement authorities to launch an uncompromising campaign to make Ratnagiri a drug-free district. Addressing the media, Dr. Samant emphasized the urgent need for immediate and concrete action by the police administration.
Speaking on the issue, Dr. Samant stated,
“The police, along with the District Collector and Provincial Magistrates, must take a firm stand on the increasing complaints related to drug consumption. We recently held a meeting to issue instructions regarding this.”
He further stressed the goal of completely eradicating drugs from the district, stating that not just the presence but even the name and trace of drugs should be eliminated.
“I have instructed the police to develop a comprehensive plan of action. Our objective is clear: Ratnagiri should become the first district in Maharashtra to be entirely free from the menace of drugs. This was the key directive in today’s meeting,” he added.
The Guardian Minister’s firm stance reflects the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward narcotics and underlines the importance of coordinated efforts between various administrative bodies to tackle the issue at its roots.
