Arunadeep Plaza is a building in the Mama Nagar area of Phulpada, East Virar. Akhilesh Vishwakarma (36) lives on the ground floor of this building with his wife and children.

What exactly happened?

At midnight on Saturday, he set himself on fire in the bedroom. Seeing the flames, his wife Sushma Vishwakarma (32) and nephew Laxmikant Vishwakarma (30) went to save him. The residents called the fire brigade. The fire brigade brought the fire under control.

Akhilesh Vishwakarma died on the spot in this fire. His wife Sushma, who was seriously injured in the attempt to save him, suffered minor injuries. Nephew Laxmikant was severely burned and has been admitted to JJ Hospital in Mumbai for treatment. The police informed that he committed suicide due to indebtedness. Virar Police Station Inspector Lalu Ture informed that the investigation is underway to find out how exactly he set the fire.
