Will not allow Pakistani artist's film to be released in India: Amey Khopkar

Protesting against Pakistani artist Fawad Khan's film 'Abir Gulal', MNS Chitrapat Sena chief Amey Khopkar clarified that the film will not be released.

MNS has once again become aggressive in opposing a Pakistani artist. The Hindi film 'Abir Gulal' starring Pakistani artist Fawad Khan will be released in India on May 9 and a representation will be given to the state government to prevent the release of the film. MNS Film Sector Chief Amey Khopkar held a press conference today and clarified his position on the matter. First, we will demand the film not to be released through a representation, and if we do not listen, we will respond in our style, Amey Khopkar has warned.

At this time, Amey Khopkar said, "There is no need to bring Pakistani artists here, we are completely opposed to letting them work here. Pakistani artists should shoot whatever they want outside India. These artists go to Pakistan and oppose us. Why should we bring them to India? Pakistani cricketers do not come here. Hindi film producers also do not accept Pakistani artists coming here. Whoever distributes this Abir Gulal film will not allow their other films to be screened. We will write a letter to the government demanding action in this regard. If the government does not take a concrete stand, MNS will respond to this in its own style," said Khopkar.

The film is directed by Aarti A. Bagdi and produced by Indian Stories and A Richer Lens Entertainment. The producers include Vivek B. Agarwal, Avantika Hari and Rakesh Sippy. Fawad Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Riddhi Dogra, Lisa Haydon, Farida Jalal, Soni Razdan, Parmeet Sethi and Rahul Vohra are in the lead roles. The film has a supporting cast from India and the UK.
