25 people have died and 6 have been injured in a horrific fire at a restaurant-club in Arpora, Goa. Prime Minister Modi expressed deep sorrow over the accident and announced financial assistance to the victims. In a post on the social media platform Twitter, Prime Minister Modi said that this incident is very sad. He expressed condolences to the deceased and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Additionally, financial assistance of 2 lakh rupees from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) was announced for the families of the deceased and 50,000 rupees for the injured.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant described the incident as the saddest event in the state's tourism history. He confirmed the arrest of the club manager and some employees. An arrest warrant has been issued against the club owners. Sawant said that 25 people have died in this accident and six are injured, all of whom are in stable condition and are receiving the best medical services. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the fire and to find responsibility.
President Droupadi Murmu also expressed deep sorrow over the accident and offered condolences to the families of the deceased. She prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Union Home Minister Amit Shah described the accident as "extremely tragic" and stated that rescue and relief operations are underway by the local administration.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery. Emergency teams worked overnight to bring the fire under control. Officials have started an investigation to find the exact cause of the fire.
